Happy december everyone!
As promised, I am back this week with a new blogpost. I have been crazy busy with work and university all week, but I love to blog. It's my way of unwinding and feeling like I am in touch with so many amazing people all around the world. Seriously, when I first started blogging I didn't know what to expect, but when I see so many people from so many different countries viewing my posts, I feel extremely humbled! Thank you for this unexpected and amazing response. I love you all.
I hope that we can all get to know each other over time. And one of the first things to learn about me is that i have a very love-hate relationship with winters. On the plus side, everything looks gorgeous and it gives us an excuse to break out the gloves and cute beanies and classy coats - however, I absolutely hate wearing 10 layers of clothes under a fashionable coat to keep out the cold and then be walking around like a snowman for the rest of the day. Like seriously, I used to look like a potato with legs and arms. And then I'd see all these girls in class dressed to the 9s and I'd resent them for looking so fab and being immune to the cold.
Then one day last winters, as I was seriously contemplating getting pneumonia in the hopes of looking fabulous again, I thought to myself - there must be a way of layering down, looking cute and still being warm.
As obvious as that sounds, my experience with winters at this point had been 0. Well anyways, I did my research, and one of the first things I learned that we should all do to fight the cold is -
Invest in extremely nice thermals. I got mine, and they changed my life!! They are thin, but warm and I can wear them under jeans or sweaters and not worry about being frozen to my bones even in the harshest of winter days. Other than that, my 2nd tip would be to shop smart. Buy cute coats or jackets, but make sure that they have a warm lining on the inside. Fur coats, that don't have any padding or fur on the inside may seem like they would be warm, but you'd just be a walking frozen popsicle in them.
Tip #3 is to buy a down jacket. They aren't for everyone fashion wise, but they have come a long way from their availablity in overly heavy in bland colors days. You can even look cute in them if you pick the right color and shape for you, and they are extremely easy to carry around as they are extremely light weight.
So for my next couple of blogposts, I'll be doing some winter looks that I love to wear.
Today's look is -
Until next time,
