My Asian Skin Care Routine

Hey guys,
I am so sorry for the hiatus so far, but those of you who are close to me would know that I have been traveling a lot this year and due to lack of stability, I couldn't get anything up - no matter how much I wanted to!
Either way, I am back in one place and I will try to get back to my regular 'once a week blogging' schedule now.

So anyways, winters are here, and it's been getting crazy cold where I live (China - yes, China), and my hair and skin have been suffering for it. All my life I have lived in a place where its always been warm, and I guess my body is accustomed to that sort of weather. I just shut down when the temperature goes below my comfort level of 15 degrees. haha.. But as much as I hate spending winters here, I have also loved getting to know some Asian skin care secrets.. For one, most Asians do the layering skin care routine, in which they layer different serums on their skin over night depending on their specific and custom needs..
Well, I have been experimenting with a lot of skin care products, trying the layering technique, and I wanted to do my very first skin care routine that works for me.

Kiehls Clearly Corrective White Purifying Foaming Cleaner

One of the first products I want to talk about is also one of my favorites. It's Kiehls Clearly Corrective White Purifying Foaming Cleaner. I have extremely sensitive skin, and some of the products that work wonders for everyone else (i am looking at you Neutrogena) just don't work for me. I break out at the drop of a hat, and in the long run, I have had a hard time committing to any one product. But then I came across this face wash, and what can I say? It's a keeper.
And Imma keep her, foreverrrrrrrrrr.
It not just evens out my complexion, but it also makes my face feel clean and soft all day long. I use it twice every day. Once every morning to wash my face and once at night after I remove my makeup and before I put on my serum and toner.

Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate

The next product I have been obsessed with lately is the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This serum is hydrating and leaves your skin feeling very moisturized and radiant the next day - a must have during winters. When I first started using it, I got a lot of compliments on my skin just a few days into it, and I would whole heartedly recommend it. Just apply a few drops on your face and pat it until your skin feels all nice and fresh and it is completely absorbed by the next morning and your leaves your face as soft as a baby's butt. The fact that it is an oily formula may turn you off at first and leave your wondering if it'd make you break out, but trust me, it doesn't make you break out and after it gets absorbed, your skin doesn't look oily either.

Kiehls Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate

And last but not the least Kiehls Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate. Being in my mid twenties, I feel like I was already too late when I started worrying about getting wrinkles. If there's one thing I have learned living In china it's that prevention is key. And when I first moved here, I had girls telling me that they have been using anti wrinkle creams since they were 18.. No wonder their skin always looks so healthy and radiant.. I suddenly felt very careless about my own skin care regime.. Well, either way, I have jumped on the wrinkle prevention bandwagon now, and I have never been happier. My skin is healthier and brighter than it has ever been and other than the stress break outs once in a while, it's never been clearer.
How to use - I apply this after my midnight recovery concentrate. A dime sized pump is more than enough. I pat it on my face working my way from my neck, up to my forehead.

 EOS lip balm

Also don't forget to give your lips some love. There's nothing worse than chapped lips during winters. One of my personal favorites is the EOS lip balm in strawberry sorbet.. What can I say? I am a sucker for the strawberry scent and the cute packaging. As far as doing it's job, it's as good a lip balm as any.

Side note - If you want to prevent skin damage, SUNSCREENS are key. I cannot stress on this enough. They not only prevent major skin damage, but they also keep away spots, uneven skin coloring, etc.. Never leave the house not wearing it, even during the winters.
Also, always drink water. That sounds like the most obvious thing in the world, but it's still one thing that we often neglect, in favor of soft drinks etc. It wouldn't help to layer on a bunch of products on your skin, if your diet is not good and you never drink water. So if you want that glow, you have to start from the inside out.

Well, that's all for today loves.
I'll be back again next week (fingers crossed).
Much love,
xx
